I'm with them ... Heinz Tomato soup especially when you come home very chilled and need something to warm you up - quick and easy.

But currently I'm still using up our fresh tomatoes.

I make my own veg soup most weekends in the winter and it's a great lunchtime warmer on cold days but if it's canned soup we are talking it has to be oxtail.

Baxter's Luxury Beef Consomme.

Take a can of it and mix it 50/50 with a a good cocktail tomato juice.

Add:
Worcester sauce
Tabasco
Horseradish sauce
Pepper
Garlic salt
maybe a tiny bit of sherry
....and all the spicy stuff you can think off


Pour it into a jug containing lots of ice cubes and serve.
