Fed up with red light jumpers

I have two rest days off the bike each week. On those days I walk to work. I have to cross a busy road at a pedestrian crossing. Almost very time I use it car drivers fail to stop when the lights are red. I have nearly been run over a few times. I wonder if it is worth bringing to the attention of the Police? Would they do anything?

Apart from putting a copper on the junction 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to stop the RLJ'ers or put CCTV up. They can't do anything.

Depends on your area really, how busy they are, and what their priorities are. Don't expect the earth, but by all means call 101 and report it, saying you'd appreciate them considering putting a PCSO in the right place at the right time, if possible and if you're lucky, and they have the time and resources, they might...

I'm afraid I'm the current economic conditions though that is about the most you could hope for.

Could be worth an email to the council as well - it's them that decide where to put those red light traffic cameras.

Guessing that you have not been a pedestrian much. 5 seconds is about all the lights give you to cross. The old folks carry starting blocks round here to get a good start when the lights go red.
