Hi

I have a second hand (new was too much) bike friday new world tourist, absolutely great bike.

I'm due to go on a tour of the coast of scotland for 4 weeks shortly.

Question is will midguards be worth it?

They are expensive at £64 a pair (inc. postage) at

I don't know whether this is a good investment?

Any opinions appreciated?

I'd maybe look into cheaper mudguards that will still fit your bike, you will be happier with mudguards IMO.

Trouble is, I think that bike has unusual-sized wheels, so there may not be cheaper mudguards to suit.

I've certainly seen a few Bike Fridays with mudguards improvised out of plastic bottles and the like, so I suspect others have found that to be true, but balked at the price of Bike Friday's own mudguards.

If the bike's going to be used regularly in wet or dirty places (Scotland is both), then I reckon it's a worthwhile investment. Apart from keeping you dry, it helps to keep the bike clean, and that makes it last longer.
