P&O internet booking cannot handle two people and two bikes in one cabin. No problem on the phone and they are a friendly bunch so you can negotiate back any "internet discount". I've exchanged emails with the backroom boys and they promise to sort out the internet fault in the future.

I'm amazed the Newhaven - Dieppe ferry is ever full. It's my usual crossing and Newhaven harbour is generally a picture of desolation and the boat half full at best. Last trip was 2010 and it looked like the tunnel had taken stolen their dinner. Still the obvious route for a head start south to the sun.

Yep I can remember taking the train to Newhaven for the night crossing and then on from Dieppe. And all the b@stards who bagged all the decent seats. Thank God for Eurostar.
