I thought the film of Jean de Florette was better than the book. I thought the film of Manon des Sources was utter carp compared to the book - Manon is a spirited and active person whereas the film turned her into a blank little blonde. Classic French portrayal of young women though - pretty, big-eyed and made to seem mysterious by never uttering a word.

:sad:The Bourne series, love the films, the wife bought me all the books, there's ten of them! I got 1/4 of the way though the first book and gave up. That was in march, it bored me so much I haven't read anything since,

No, no, no!

The original Bourne trilogy of books was excellent - really good storyline IMO. The later books are written by someone else (von Lustbader?) and are just action films in words - nowhere near the quality of the original books.

Mind you, I do like the films.
