Looking at the bike again I have a nagging feeling it might be a Phillips. Can you take a closer picture of the bottom of the front forks as they do remind me of ones I had on a Phillips bike.

Yep those are Very Phillips style front forks. If I find the catalogue of Phillips spares you will see.
