Find out who owns a vehicle

Good morning all.

Looking for help in finding out who owns a vehicle. It is ( I believe) a private vehicle. I have checked askmid and it is not currently showing as insured.

Perfectly legitimate reason for wanting to find out, as I have been linked with this vehicle in an insurance enquiry.
Someone who has my name and occupation! I have never heard of this vehicle, it does not belong to me or my employers.

surely pointing out that you've never heard of the vehicle with a side order of reporting insurance fraud to the police should do it?

DVLA have a procedure for this. You need to send in a Form V888

As BlackSheep points out, the police may also be interested.

Nothing at the moment to suggest any fraud, my employers are also looking in to it.

Thanks, was hoping there may be a quicker way with no cost of course. I'm more curious than worried.
