...and I was nearly wiped out after about 300 yards!

Coming past the Minster ( which is behind the camera in that google image) on the cycle path, I come to the place where the cycle/pedestrian path exits onto a road. It's often a busy point, requiring a lot of attention, and as I scanned the area I saw a pedestrian likely to walk straight out into the cycle lane. But before she got to the kerb my attention shifted to the cyclist who was coming the other way and had crossed to the wrong side of the road in order to come through the same pair of bollards I was passing between. Yikes!
Even more yikes, as a car coming towards me on Duncome Place drifted across towards me in order to turn down Petergate, right in front of me.
Fortunately, I was able to brake (while shouting 'whoa!'), and he also stopped, and sort of waved me on. Gee, thanks.
I wondered afterwards if he'd intended to pass behind me, but because I was slowing in anticipation of that pedestrian, and then the numpty heading towards me, I was less far on than he expected. Either that or he was busy chatting on his bluetooth earpiece handsfree kit - I've got a feeling it looked like he was talking as I stopped.
Still, it got the blood pumping first thing.
