I rode into work today for the first time in nearly three months. (I came off on ice in January and fractured my leg). It's been too long and I was getting far too comfortable driving the car every day. Anyway, started out this morning under grey skies and with a mild headwind thinking 'Hmm, why am I doing this?'. It was fine once I got warmed up though, and I was only 5 minutes slower than usual over the 8 miles.

Had a quick shower in work and was at my desk for 9am, body humming with endorphines and with a big smile on my face. Looking forward to a tailwind home now; it's good to be back!

Welcome back Freewheeler, 3 months I don't know how you survived ;)

Alot of people just don't get it, they can't understand the idea of not taking the car; If only they'd just try, I get to work sweaty but smiling like a mental.

Kudos to your quick recovery and I bet you'll be topping your best speed within the month.

My philosophy for cycling to work is: cycle as fast as I can with out sweating.....lol
I know I am lazy

Welcome back. It's a good time to be coming back with the lighter days and better weather (ok then, just the lighter days!)

I'd be going mad not being able to use the bike for 3 months!

It was crap being off the bike for so long. I've been riding to and from the shops etc for the last couple of weeks, but it doesn't compare to a proper ride.

Rode in again today but I have a slight twinge in my leg (not where it fractured, feels more like a tendon). I think I'll leave earlier and take it easy for the next couple of weeks
Lovely weather out there now, looking forward to the ride home at 5:30.
