After always riding solo, I went out for my first ever group ride this morning. Booked myself onto one of the Skyride strong plus rides around the Fylde villages. I felt I could cope with the advertised 25-30 miles at 13-15 mph without embarrasing myself and thouroghly enjoyed it (apart from p******ing inside the first mile - thanks for waiting everyone!) No one was left behind and the pace was very confortable for me.
Found it a really pleasant change to chat to people whilst zipping along and everyone was really nice. It seemed to make the distance go quicker and easier. Will certainly do another one, and as an added bonus, with riding to the start and home again, managed to get a 45 miler in.
