Yay! I'm finally back on the bike. First time since Christmas:blush:. I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to ice and have had to be in the car a few times anyway but I've seized the opportunity today and cycled in. Even a late alarm didn't deter me. I was a bit slow but I'm sure I'll soon be back to my normal pace. Thanks for listening!

Well done! Feels great doesn't it.

I've just completed (provided I get home) my first week of commuting (I come to the office Fri - Tues inclusive). I haven't communted by bicycle for 17 years, dam glad I started again though.

Well done silverbow! And well done for starting at this time of year! It's not been the best weather lately.

I've just done my first commute since December 23rd. And I didn't go out at all on the bike during those three weeks...

Absolutely fantastic, I hated being in the car all last week. We have an outdoor thermometer thingy with an indoor receiver - if the outside temperature is negative when I get up, then I don't go by bike - in part because of ice-risk, in part because of in the event that the bike goes wrong in any way, even a visit from the p-fairy, I'm going to get very cold very quickly. The latter reason was invented by my husband so he doesn't have to worry about me so much; and at the time, when I get up and the temperature is negative, it feels like a good reason. And then a whole week has passed with no cycling and it doesn't feel like quite so good a reason.

But what can I say - 10 miles down for 2009, 1990 to go to reach my target

Between Christmas and New Year holidays (fun reason), dodgy weather and work trips (not so fun reason), I've not done a full week cycling to work since before Christmas .. and I won't be on the bike again until next Tuesday after today. ;) Hopefully I'll then get a few full weeks in.

Maizie - I don't feel so bad now! My last commute was 24 December and I was really disappointed not to be on the bike last week as well.

Well done Maizie. I've done 50 (by tonight) and I've still 2200 to go. So you're already ahead me!

Today is my first day back since the 18th of december! I've been off for ages because of a fall (and a very sore hand, which still isn't better) and a cold turned into a cough thats lasted since the 26th and is dying out, but still here.

Normally 14 miles each way, but I got the train for ten of them this morning, and I'm still wiped out. Going to take some time to get a bit fitter I think.

Didn't have a lot of time off so haven't really been away from the bike.It looks battle worn and filthy now and needs some tlc and so do I.
