First sub-zero commute of the year

This morning frost on the car windshields and frost on grass in low-lying spots.

Took me by surprise. I had two thin short-sleeved base layers under a light waterproof jacket (Altura Night Vision), a buff, and fingerless gloves, and tracksters over thin cycling shorts.

Almost bailed out half-way to work, and would have done if i'd been 30 secs earlier going past the train station.

No - I'm not ready for this ... I was wearing shorts just a week or two ago... I've got the full finger gloves on ... but not yet the winter ones.

Presumably you don't quite mean what's in the title.

My cold weather kit is slowly coming out. Long gloves, warmer jacket. Clocks and migratory birds getting ready to go back. Next it'll be thermal socks. Don't like the darker colder months, and it's a long time until the spring. Brrrrrrrrrr.

17 degrees when I set off at half seven this morning in the East Midlands.

12 Degs at half past four in Warwickshire.

I had to scrape the car windscreen on saturday, car thermometer read -0.5 at 6:30am. The rest of the week has been warmer though

Roasting in manchester too. That and a valve failed this morning, whilst rushing to a meeting. Properly cooked by the time I got to work

It was colder in my room this morning than outside! A cool 12 degrees meant shorts. A ss jersey, arm warmers full finger gloves and my mavic jacket. By the time I got to work that was all in my jersey pockets (bar they jersey and shorts)

The weather forecast for tomorrow morning shows temp between 0 and 1 below.

And as it was bloody cold this morning i'm counting it as my 1st sub-zero commute of the year.

It has been colder this autumn, about two weeks ago. But i wasnt working early shift that week.

Altura Nightvision is light?

I suppose you'd not want it as first choice for mountain climbing but i find it far too warm for anything other than freezing weather, I wear mine for less than two weeks a year

9 degrees or so in Sheffield this morning, about 0500am. I was sweating in a short sleeved top and light coat!

Definitely below zero this morning. And has been for some time. There's a patch of water runs over the cycle path near work. This had frozen. Studded tyres soon
