Hi,
A cycling buddy and I are planning on going to watch the tour in the Alps for the first time - the stage that takes in the famous Colombiere and Madeleine. Does anyone have any tips / recommendations for places to stay or other useful advice for such a trip? We are looking for somewhere cheap, clean and decent as budgets are limited this year.
At the moment the plan is to drive down, with bikes in the car and have 3 days there, staying somewhere like Clusaz. Though it looks to be handy for the stage it also looks very small so we may well be staying elsewhere so are open to suggestion.
One day we will watch the stage, another cycle part of the stage and the third do some sight seeing - maybe more depending how knackering going up the Colombiere or Madeleine turns out to be. Does anyone know of any things to do in the area on that third day? Places to visit, cafes, restaurants you can can recommend, etc.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Craig
