Fish and mushrooms

In my opinion they shouldn't ever be on the same plate but tonight I baked filleted trout with shitake 'shrooms on a bed of sliced spuds. It was a Jamie O so I thought I'd give it a go.
I remain convinced that fish and mushrooms aren't a good combo.

Chestnut mushrooms go well with flatfish. IMO.

Hugh Wotsisface did that grass carp thing with mushrooms in place of its scales. It looked pretty apart from when they fell off, not sure how it tasted though.

Having a bit of a mushroom spell at present but I have to agree with Rich here, fish and mushrooms not a good mix. Though we are fond of muhsroom rice and that would be one of the least offensive ways of combining them with fish.

Other things that don't go together - fish and tomato - just wrong, lamb and mint or lamb and rosemary...mint is for icecream or chocloate and rosemary needs to stay in the garden.

I dunno, I think fish and mushroom would make a nice combination. Having said that I like Cod & Custard so it's safe to say I have weird taste in food.

Lamb and rosemary burgers from The Gower are delicious - how could you not adore that combination!!
