The search is on for my next bike,mainly for winter commuting 10-20miles,and like the idea of single/fixed for low maintenance.Never ridden fixed and having reached 50yrs not sure if now is the time to start.My commute is mostly flat but I can detour and include some decent hills,the bike I am looking at is a Dawes with a 48 :18 ratio and drop handlebars,would this be suitable for my needs ?
