I saw a red fixie in Birmingham city centre at lunch time. There were two credit cards wedged between the spokes of the back wheel.

Anybody know why?

to make that 'motorbike' noise that kids (inc me) used to do with pegs/spokes/ciggie cards back in the 1970s????

As in between 2 spokes where they cross? I've heard of putting a piece of rubber (such as a piece of innertube or a patch) between them to stop creaking noises under flex, but never a credit card!

None of these remedies is a solution to uneven spoke tension, which would be the most likely cause.
