Just been on the AyUp website to do a warranty claim and noticed that they now do a battery that has a flashing mode aswell as the normal on/off for about forty quid.

Flashing AyUps, that will be a sight to behold ;)

I got the same effect from a broken battery cable. The woman in the Range Rover in front of me at the lights rolled down her window and yelled "I've SAID I'm sorry for whatever it was I'd done !" I had to roll up to her window and apologise and tell her it was a loose wire, not me flashing her deliberately. She had a good laugh about it, which was a relief !

Flashing Ay-Ups will be like looking into a paparazzi flashgun storm

Ah good....shame I've got two Hope Vision 1's - I use them an alternating flash in crappy weather, like this morning - looks like a police bike coming down the road.

I'm not convinced that they're a good idea. Flashers can be useful, but flashing Ay-ups would seem to cross the line between "here I am" and "up yours".

Would we tolerate them if they were on the front of a chavved up Corsa?

That's what the warranty claim was for, cable split at the bottom where it joins the battery.
I agree that flashing Ay-Ups might be a bit much.

Mine did the same, I took a photo, e-mailed it to them, they sent me a new one for nowt and I repaired the old one. Sorted

Having them flashing might be a bit much I think.

Indeed. Great service from them under warranty.

If the same problem has happened to a couple of users though, I'd hope they look at a redesigned connection in future.

Sounds like it wasn't an uncommon problem, I haven't seen it mentioned on here before though.
I kept schtum because of the great customer service - which was the reason for me mentioning it now.

When mine happened I rang them in the UK the day before they shut the UK site down and I must admit I was a bit worried when I found out abouyt that, but they just sent me another battery.

I cant fault AY UP at all apart from that one problem and I use the lights all year round they are excellent.

Can't beat good customer service.

Hope are the same - one of mine decided it wouldn't switch off - Wiggle replaced immediately, and I contacted Hope and they said 'it wouldn't happen again'......

Here for rides.
Riding through Brizzle on Monday morning with two flashing EBC LED's (deliberate) and my AyUps on (accidental) a west country wag wound his window down and with a big grin said "'kin 'ell mate you trying to melt my ****in' car or what?"
