Anyone know much about making Freedom Of Information requests?

They can be VERY revealing when successful - found that out for something entirely unrelated.

Just a thought - how about adding at the head of your list something like asking for

"sources indicating that TfL are released from terms of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, specifically the provisions, powers, and responsibilities related to the "civil and orderly behaviour of the driver" from clauses 50 and 61 of that Act, as preserved in clause 15 of The Metropolitan Public Carriage Act 1869."​

I'm sure there will be something - beyond their bland brush-offs to complainants - but it was kinda interesting trawling through how the 1847 act has developed for managing taxi licences outside London, and the complete lack of thought for taxi management within London.

Anyone know much about making Freedom Of Information requests?

With all the talk of shocking behaviour from London cabbies recently, and police disinterest in persuing them, I was thinking of making an FOI request for something like the following information:

1. Number of reports from cyclists about cabbie behaviour
2. Number of reports resulting in further action being taken.
3. Comparison of these figures against similar reports from cyclists about non-cabbie drivers.

I think you need to ask several questions, and to the right people - remember several different government groups may have information.

They may not have complaints by cyclists about cabbies, but they should about cabbies - councils may hold more info. You could do with seeing if they categorize the complaints too.
