So it seems that Morocco have made a pretty sensible decision (to me at least) not to host (or preferably to postpone the African Nations cup competition due to fears of spreading Ebola.
Clearly that's not good enough for the powers that be in international football and so they've been expelled.

Weeeeeeeell first off, I couldn't give a fudge about football and don't quite see the fascination, buuuuuuuut, they could have just tested all the players, coaches & staff for symptoms and not allowed fans to travel in from affected areas - seems a bit OTT to pull out of hosting TBH.

I'm not interested in football either, but I am interested is a nasty disease potentially being spread because of sporting financial interests ....

*pedant hat on* Technically they only qualified as hosts rather than through competitive games, so in not hosting they have disqualified themselves from the competition & the new host will have their 'bye' place.
Assumedly if that country qualifies on merit then the best of the rest will get added (much like Denmark getting into the Euro 92 competition when Yugoslavia imploded and could not participate). *pedant hat off*

But I can't say I blame Morocco in terms of the potential ramifications if even one or two people manage to evade whatever screening or testing that they could implement.
