I've just had a magical evening in the company of my step son, my two sons, my youngest sons Fiancée and their daughter, our grand daughter, less than two weeks old and utterly charming, having her sleeping in my arms after my wife fed her was amazing.

Sadly very true!

When I taught, 25 years in Secondary Education, I had them turn up with the Squits, Measles, Chicken pox, Pneumonia, a broken arm, raging fever and many other diseases. All untreated and all where the child was very obviously very ill. I've also had them turn up after sleeping in the coal cellar, lousy with head lice, lousy with fleas, lousy with both, in shirt sleeves during a snowstorm and smelling to high heaven. AND teaching is all long holidays and short days!

Bollocks!!!

Yes I time my afternoon returns to miss the school pick-up, I have to pass the school on the way to my street. Total chaos and the village is so small that you can walk around it in under an hour and across it in any direction in 12 minutes.
