Dear esteemed members of Cycle Chat. I have a confession and seek your forgiveness. Yiu see last week I went for a 30 miler in torrential rain, arriving home soaked to the bone I dumped my sodden clothes on the kitchen floor and retired to the shower. I returned and stuffed my wet kit into the washing machine and dumped my nike in the garage.

That's it, I've had a good week since then, until this morning ....

I got the steed out to notice some slight (and I mean slight, honestly) rustiness to my chain due to my reckless lack of proper bike care the week before. I needed some GT85 on a rag to clean it (I know, the shame) and then plenty finish line green and much Mickling to nurse it back to life. I've lived with the guilt all day ... it was in my defence heavily lubed with FL-green before venturing into the moistness last week, but it must have all been washed away.

I'm not worthy ....

The most important thing is that you have repented.

By confessing your sins and recognising your lack of worthiness, you have shown that you have alos shown remorse and have learnt from your misdemeanors.

I forgive.

Of course if you ha been riding with a single panier...............

Ah, a mountain biker.

Now you mention it, my road bike, never, has a rusty chain.......

Of course you are forgiven FF as no doubt we have all done (even though some of us will deny it vehnmently) it at some point in our cycling career. Take me for instance only two Sundays ago the ride to Church was 'orrible but by the time I came out it had cleared up and I totaly forgot to relube the chain until yesterday. So guilty as charged m'lud.
