That's a completely different route. It is one that I have been thinking of using next year though!
It used to be bloody awful but they improved it a lot. Not good tarmac all the way, but I no longer feared to take my best bike up there. TBH though, I haven't done it since pre-Covid so it might have got a bit rougher again since then? Street View hasn't been up there for over 10 years so that is no help. I might go up there to check it out in the next week or so if we get some decent weather.

Just been looking at streetview dated 2010. Bit knobbly ain't it? 
Doable on my bike but yep, I can see proper road bikes struggling there.

I did it a couple of times before it was improved and it was definitely 'dodge-the-pothole'!
Ah - it had been improved by the time I did THIS RIDE in 2014!
