I don't know if this affects me disproportionately because anything containing caffeine is off my agenda but there is a multi-vitamin product called Menergy you can buy from Holland and Barret among other places and it has a powerful stimulant effect on me!
Never having taken anything approaching amphetamines, I can only conclude the affects of something in this Menergy product is in some way similar to speed. I learned this by having a Menergy capsule on the mornings of big training rides or running races where greater energy stores were required and found it works in that regard perfectly but it has an additional effect. It doesn't have an intoxicating effect or anything like that but you do feel undoubtedly very alert, probably more like INCREDIBLY alert and chatting away twenty to the dozen. I've seen coke-heads blabbing away non-stop before and I am conscious I'm in danger of going the same way with this and have to remember to put the brakes on.
Anyone else tried this and had the same effects? Caffeine triggers migraines in me so I never consume anything containing it so can't relate to the supposed stimulating effects of coffee and its comparison with Menergy but I am finding it a bit weird. Not weird in a bad way but sleep becomes a problem on Menergy days!
