Frame size question

I am 5'10" and recently tried out the 19" and 21" Boardman hybrids for size. Guy in the shop said that I should go for the larger size frame rather than the smaller frame and have to jack the seat up. I accepted this but have subsequently been told that the 19" frame would be more practical for when I needed to get "out of the saddle."

I have neveer really paid any attention to things like this before but considering this will be the largest amount of money I will have ever spent on a bike I do want to make sure I get it right.

Any thoughts or points I need to consider?

Im 5' 9" and the 19" boardman fits me to a tee and having previously ran a bike shop i would recommend the 19" for someone who is 5' 10" based on height but you also have to take into consideration your reach as well if the 19" feels More comfortable then thats the one for you
