Frame weight

What would anyone consider a light weight to be?
Is 960g lightweight?

Yes, but you can get lighter if you have deep pockets and care that much
eg 810g in 54cm...but nearly 4K for just the frameset

Bear in mind that some manufacturers advertise a 'frameset' as the frame only weight without the forks.

960g is light for the frame and forks, but not just for the frame.

Actually that's the case with the BMC..so 960 for both would be super light

Berk frame was 631g no fork inc. It was an in house project with fixed seatmast and saddle. They reckon 500g is possible if you only use 100% premium grade carbon fibre.
I wonder what is possible if you make it for a skinny guy for pootling along.

I have a 600g frame. I am planning on turning it into a bicycle, but am awaiting a 50g saddle, 124g bars, 70g stem and 110g seatpost.

it will be quite a light bike once it is completed.

No point in it being light if it doesn't transfer the power down. I'd really not get fixated on just the weight.

As I weigh 79kg and should be 74kg [according to the NHS BMI calculator] it is all a bit academic for me [though itt could be much worse as I was 95kg at the start of the 1st lockdown.]
