I agree with jjb- I prefer to cycle south to the the warm - only ridden north the once - however, I was on my way back from Nice having "nudged" the Alps

sounds like a brilliant route - i was skiing down one of them earlier this year and that bit was steep - really have got to give this a serious thought now - south north or north south thanks for the input
