Yesterday I got a puncture while out on a MTB ride. Happened to be coming into a village, so had a coffee break and did the biz. Found nowt in tyre, and tube stayed up on its own whilst I was drinking me columbian hazelnut lattemezzimochino (this was in Surrey).

So, I put it back as was. Went down again. Changed tube for ease and speed, and rode home.

Today tried to find puncture using air and sink method. Nothing doing - not a hint of tube losing air anywhere.

Weeeeeeird or what. May have to send it to Fortean Times.

It's probably only coming out under the higher pressure / shape distortion of actually being on the bike.

I've had intermittent punctures before. Unexplained, but I never thought of invoking paranormal activity as the cause.

Could also be the valve malfunctioning and not a p*ncture...

I had one of those a couple of years ago. On the bike would go down, off the the bike it would stay up, never figured it out and eventually chucked it in the bin.
