I have noticed that "Narrow Margin" with Gene Hackman is a free DVD in tomorrow's Mail on Sunday.

The same DVD is available at Hmv.co for £9.99 including postage. Is the free one with the newspaper total rubbish. How do they give away the DVD? I have no experience of comparing "free" dvds with the quality of the "bought" dvds. Are bits "cut out" of the "free" ones?

It is an excellent film. I also have the "original" from umptytwo years ago on Video, in black and white I think.

You don't get things like directors commentaries, 'making of' documentaries etc. Basically you just get the film in a cardboard sleeve.

I think I would like the full version with the extra bits. No one ever knows what to buy me for a birthday pressie, so I could suggest that one.

Or wait for it to appear in the Oxfam shop. They do not "sell" the "free" ones, but you can take some and put a donation in their tin.

The prices are ridiculous!

My brother does this regularly....... he trades in old video games and quite often the trade-in is more than the cost!

It is possible to buy a game in one shop, then trade it in for another game to make a profit!

He has even done this in the same shop!

Get the free one and then after you've seen it decide then if you what to pay for another copy. Also check out the packaging for the HMV one in a shop to see if it has any extras on it that isn't on the free one.
