Hi guys,
Quick question, I bought a new bike from Halfords (only £379). WHen free wheeling there is a deliberate 'clicking' noise coming from the back wheel. When I pedal it does not make any noise - any ideas how I can stop it?

The noise can be heard at 18 seconds on this video

, please note this is not my bike and I don't have any of the other issues identified in the video. I am simply using this video because it has a bike making the same noise.
Thanks.

It's meant to do that.

Sadly I thought that, any reason why?

Not all freehubs do this: I use Shimano freehubs + freehub bodies on my touring and road bikes, and they're almost silent. I'm one of those who hates bicycles making any kind of noise.
Me too, but on an ageing Viking it's almost inevitable. Though the RS10's are pretty quiet.

& not just because they are at the cheaper end, MAVIC wheels, even costing > £700.00 are horribly noisy. It is just a factor of the design of the freehub, some do, some don't. I too run a Shimano rear (a cheapo one) and it is silent. I have a MAVIC Kyrsium Elite, it sounds like a Gatling gun.
