I assume with a dog in any language, a fierce shout of any syllable would do the trick - it's mostly in the tone of voice and dominant demeanour...

OOOH, Miss Whiplash, I've been a naughty boy:blush:

Blackandblue, I don't want to hijack your thread, but it is called French translation so I need to ask my question to all you french language experts out there.
I've currently got a thread going about aggressive dogs so can someone tell me what I shout at a french dog if it's chasing me/my bicycle while cycling through rural France on my upcoming trip ?

Thanks for the replies folks, I had a good chuckle at them. Andy in sig I thought that was very funny. (I've still to turn my attentions to Germany - this cycling is opening up a whole new world).
Anyway I've decided I'll just shout in my Scottish hard man accent "Git on yer bike !!".
Back to the wheels turning, as boys in Glasgow we used to shout at passing cyclists "Yur back wheels're gaun roon in sqer circles".
