Hi all, something of a newby when it comes to cycling, having only started doing it with any regularity about 18months ago, to help loose some weight. Well Im now 4 stone lighter, and have progressed from a hybrid town bike to a Giant Defy road bike, and loving every minute of my cycling. Now progressing into some sportives, and regularly doing 40+ mile rides, so hope to pick the brains of any resident experts on ways to improve.

No magic tips I'm afraid Smokey, just simple equation of ensuring 'energy out' exceeds 'energy in' until the desired weight is reached. Then is just a cas of keeping them equal ;)

john , sounds like you are enjoying it so well done , all you need now is a shed or garage full of spare bikes and parts
Well I must be doing something right as I seem to have already accumulated those.... perhaps more than I should have lol

Welcome - you'll find others local to you and/or events/rides as well.

Just avoid the Bikes, Accessories ... thread unless you want credit card damage. Or at least that's my experience.
