Morning all. Trust your all ready for the trick or treaters. Personally have haribos and hosepipe ready. A day of laziness today, young oxo is taking me to his new best tool shop before family meal out at lunch. Then I'm carrying out drafting a want list for the new bike. Spoilt for choice. Any roads its nice and dry outside so have a nice day.

Morning

Milder but equally dull after yesterday's monsoon malarkey.
Fed birds, will do paperwork then shopping (sigh, that evil necessity) then café in the sticks.

First: coffee

My kids loved it when they were younger. Dressing up, hanging out with their mates doing something different and exciting, carving the pumpkins.

Of course many will now moan it’s some American commercialised nonsense. But it costs us virtually nothing and it’s one of the kid’s best nights of something really sociable and fun for them.

Mrs Wakemalcolm and DD2 were up till all hours at a gig in Glasgow so everyone's a bit tired and moody up here. Am amazed anyone's up at all. There's some work being done on the house this week which should prevent anyone skulking back off to bed too.

The era where we paid lip service to Halloween has largely passed but we're suitably equipped with confectionery and the chat of the younger visitors is charming and hilarious in equal measures. I think DD1 sees it as a drinking opportunity.

But first, coffee.

We don't get any visitors since moving back into the sticks. Miss the little one's and their daft outfits.
I used to say that they have to tell me a spooky joke before they got any treats.

Insisting that they fumble their way through a dreadful joke is imperative. One year a little girl came around with a poem that she'd written. It was as tedious as it was long.

Morning, sunny and bright here.
Coffee then the weekly Zwift TT sweatfest. Off up to Angus for the weekend.
We are too rural for any trick or treaters. Bizarrely our hamlet of 5 houses was mentioned yesterday on the radio weather forecast.

Morning Peeps,

Good steak and vino session in town at night, but feeling relatively OK this morning. Half a day in the cave then taking the afternoon off to do some stuff like haircut and post office, and chill afterwards.

Got a bag full of 1p and 2p coins that I need to get shot of, so that may come in handy if any stray trick or treaters make it up the driveway.
