Well, short cycle to the massive bulb gardens, better than I expected, followed by coffee and appletart, then a beer at the campsite, then an excellent meal out with beer and wine - a grand day out!
That stuff can take a lot of time to work. I use some cotton to make a plug. Saturate the cotton with the wax remover and it will sit there doing it's job.

Have you tried lying on your side and literally dripping some wax remover in?
Then you lie there until all the popping and banging starts and then some.
I did that for a few days - 10 to 15 mins at a time or for as long as I could bear it.
