Friday night is unusual but enthralling Later music...

The first time i'd heard of Goldfrapp was on Later... this performance sent shivers down my spine and still does.

From their first, and by far their best LP, Felt Mountain.

Totally enthralled by this when I saw it

Later ain't what it used to be, but this was one of the whaaaat? moments where you just KNOW you are seeing something 'new' (if blues can be new) and watching someone become a star in the length of time it takes to sing a song. See it in Phil Jupitus' face at 0:36. Terrific stuff.

Similar when I first saw Imelda May on Jools:

The Future islands one was great too, a friend of mine has being banging on about them for a bit.

One of the greatest performances I have ever seen, still gives me goosebumps.

....though you have to get to 1 min 30 before she actually starts singing.
