The bursar at our school used to tell us tales about his time in the Gurkhas. We didn't believe them and referred to him as 'Colonel Gobshite'. I Googled a few of them years later and they turned out to be true.

You can hear the Boo's when he first played 'electric' with Paul Butterfield, carried on when he played with Levon and the Hawks (later to be known as 'The Band', According to Robbie Robertson it carried on for 2 years "We were booed all over the world"

This one got me the cane. I had a little transistor radio in my pocket and an earpiece hidden by my long hair. The earphone jack pulled out of the socket and the Beatles came blaring out all over the classroom, to the amusement of my classmates and the ire of the teacher. I really could have done with some help myself as I was dragged out for the inevitable thrashing.
