Status Quo - In the army now
Our French teacher had been invalided out of the army during the Korean war. He had absolutely no interest in teaching French and would go off at a tangent during French lessons. He didn't do it during the (compulsory) CCF though.

You can hear the Boo's when he first played 'electric' with Paul Butterfield, carried on when he played with Levon and the Hawks (later to be known as 'The Band', According to Robbie Robertson it carried on for 2 years "We were booed all over the world"

This one got me the cane. I had a little transistor radio in my pocket and an earpiece hidden by my long hair. The earphone jack pulled out of the socket and the Beatles came blaring out all over the classroom, to the amusement of my classmates and the ire of the teacher. I really could have done with some help myself as I was dragged out for the inevitable thrashing.
