As a child of the 50/60s there are lots but I will go with a surprise one......

It's A Long Way To Tipperary.
(Can someone put the link thing on ??)

Our history teacher fought in both world wars. He would have us 14 year olds marching around the classroom in formation while singing it.

1 Contender for that song could be Python Lee Jackson- In A Broken Dream................very rare and never really 'released' as such. A few pubs had it on old jukeboxes in the 70's and some disco owners had a copy but not many, I'd post a linky but can't on this crap 'chromebook' thingy but try and give it a listen

Was it the song,it was extremely rare and you couldn't buy it so we listened to it wherever we could.

The song was only a 'Demo' as the Australian band tried to make it in Britain, recorded in 1970 with Rod not famous yet, it was tried to be released in 72 but by then Rod was in the Small Faces and I think their management killed it off. Shame really as it was a classic song

I was aware of the record, but as you say Rod had joined the small faces, so I wouldn't be at all surprised that his management/record company quashed it in favour of The Small Faces
