This relates to a brand new Deore 9-speed setup with 22/32/44 chainset.

All changes in all directions index just fine, except for 44T to 32T when the chain won't come off the 44T. Backing off the adjustment screw nearest the frame one turn has made no difference and I don't want to bugger things up by fiddling further when I'm not really up to speed on front mechs.

Any advice please guys?

Unscrew the low adjust screw (usually marked with a '-' sign) half a turn at a time until it shifts reliably. If the chain drops off the inside of the smallest chainring you've gone to far, so tighten it half a turn.

Undo the cable adjuster 1/2 a turn on the shifter. What it is is that the shifter is not letting out enough cable if you change the settings by 1/2 or a full turn (and you keep count) you can all ways put it back to where it was if it dose not work.
