I don't see the point in having a flash/solid light combined as the reason I have two lights (one flashing / one constant) is so I have... em two lights. If one fails I still have a light. So even if I had a combined light I'd still want another light anyway.

That is an excellent point.

I think the combined light is a good idea, there is one cyclist I see (never worked out what his light is as he is going the opposite direction), and there is a large gap in between the flashes and he only has the one front light on. You can always have two lights with one of them combined.

All Dinottes have this mode. Which mode I use depends on the type of journey. Where I need to see as well as be seen, I use this mode; for urban riding, I use the fast strobe mode, angled down somewhat, as that really gets noticed.

Are fast strobes beyond a certain speed even road legal? I would have thought that regulations would take into account the risk of seizures with fast flashing lights but then maybe not. Anyone know? I have a cheap xmlt6 clone and the flash is frankly dangerous looking, not that I ever use it.
The issue is not giving someone a seizure but pissing people the frack off.
A fast flashing light makes it very hard to follow someones movement, make it super bright and you just blind/dazzle people.
