At the end of my 18 mile commute this morning was aware that my toes were a bit cold & painful. Changing into work clothes observed that my 4th & 5th toes were pale and very cold whilst the other toes were nice and pink. Glasgow weather centre reported the temperature as being somewhere between -1 to -2.4c so I guess it was cold enough to cause problems. Fortunately toes improved over the next hour or two & had no problems on way home wearing two pairs of sock.

Guess I'll need to invest in some overshoes.

Anyone else had similar problems?

Yep, I have the same sort of problem with the toes. There was a thread knocking about in beginners a while back. Here it is.....

Yep, I think I have bad circulation anyway. I always have cold hands and feet. I've had to resort to fluffy pink slippers and fingerless gloves on in the house ;).

I have been wearing ski socks the last couple of times I've been out and I was fine. With normal sports socks and overshoes I get cold toes. On long rides I've found it helps to jump on the spot for a bit when you stop for a break, but you may well get funny looks from passers by.

Ah , the old yellow extremities problem. I get it badly in my fingers , takes ages to recover from it too. Hope you find a solution

I've cut up (and glued) an old neopreme wrist support, into toe warmers, that fit inside my shoes, and over my socks. Work a treat for keeping the frostbite off.
