I don't know anything about horses, and have certainly never "rugged" one, but that looks lovely, especially the half light horse half dark horse effect ?

That'll be his haircut - there's probably a better term for a horses haircut but I don't know it. Very nice looking horse Amnesia, is he that clean at the moment?

It's called a 'clip'.

There are various types... Finn has a chaser clip, basically a diagonal line from his ears to his hind quarters. It's grown out a bit now and will be re-done over Xmas.

He came 2nd in the 'Most Handsome Gelding' class at a local show when the pic above was taken. That's my wife riding him.

He's usually very clean, but it's just started raining here so I expect he will have filthy legs when we get him in later. The rug keeps most of the mud off.

the rabbit and guinea pig's water was freezing every night, until i insulated the bottle with a neoprene overshoe (bought to match a carrera jacket but alas too small for my shoes). worked a treat.
