A post in this thread about low cost, secure camp sites got me thinking.

I wonder if we could develop a network of secure outdoor space that others could use when touring, to pitch a tent, take a shower, use a tap and perhaps dry /wash some gear.

I am am pretty sure I could offer a garden plot in the following areas

NW Kent (chislehurst, biggin hill, orpington)

Mid Kent (Maid stone, wrotham
meopham)

Preston
Northampton
Western Scotland (although wild camping is available)
Perhaps the new forest (Ringwood I think)

All pretty rural locations I afraid...nothing to wild.

Most of these are friends who might take some convincing, but its something to consider developing as a touring resource...with our membership around the world, there must be hundreds of potential secure sites available for those who are passing by.

I agree, warm showers is fine but (after a long ride) I just want a pitch I don't want to have to talk to you.

If you want to go anywhere via Dover i am just down the road, have a lawn you can pitch on and a secure shed for the bike.

Depending on who you are on here, there's a room and facilities (NOT the missus) available for a night or two chez moi.
