I've just read an obituary of Gary Mason, the former British heavyweight boxer. He was killed in a cycling accident, when he was knocked down by a van in south London.
I remember him being in the mould of Frank Bruno, although he didn't have Frank's devastating punch or charisma. He wasn't the classiest of fighters, but he was hard to beat.
It was quite interesting reading about his life after boxing. He seemed to have a real entrepreneurial spirit, although none of his ideas seemed to come off. He kept on trying though.
