Hi , am relatively new to cycling and have the shifters on my brake levers , which are brill but my wife's ladies roadie has the shifters in the middle of the handlebars near the stem and they are quite stiff.
My question is a) are they difficult to change to be like mine and roughly how much should this cost me ?
Thanks chaps

Just check that there are no sharp bends in the cables and that they are well lubricated before getting too carried away buying new shifters.

Hi Nigel. Are the shifters those Revoshift type things, they can be quite stiff.
What bike / shifters do you have ?

You can get 8sp triple's on ebay for around £50 (7 speeds also available) I think, should be straight forward enough to change, though you will need to retape the brake cable (and maybe the gear cable) under the handle bar tape, as Tony says a pic will help, as there is a tensioner that on my bike is where the outer cable ends on the down tube, or about the same position as down tube shifters would be.
