I asked my girlfriend (who speaks German and spent a year living in Austria) if she'd heard of him:

Can’t say I have, although Wikipedia says he’s Austrian by birth – which makes him funnier than the Germans by default.

He is on Radio 5 Fighting talk regularly. He is very funny.

Heard him on the radio a lot - he's actually quite funny.

(Also walked into the toilet 'hut' at the Pleasance Courtyard last summer during the Fringe as he was walking back out, and held the door open for him.)
