I can remember Fireball XL5 from when I was about 5 years old, it is very sad the Gerry Anderson has gone, It is yet another part of my childhood that has sadly disappeared. I think that Joe 90 was my favourite of all, with the best theme tune.imho.

I always thought that Thunderbird 2 would solve the problem of having a quick turn around at the airport. All the passengers could be seated in a pod ready to go - FAB.

Of course I know nothing of aero-design but I know what I like.

Same here.
I went round his house and met him and his wife just over a year ago now. Thing is' I didn't know who he was at the time, he was just a kindly well dressed man whose wife keeps Whippets - and it was her and her dogs that we'd gone to meet. Gerry had a Jack Russel that was ripping the stuffing out of a toy whilst we chatted. There was no sign of his work visible in the house. It was only as we left that the penny dropped and I told his wife what a hero he'd been. If you look at his life on Wiki you realise that business-wise he'd been done-over several time.
His programs were groundbreaking.
He was a lovely man.
