We were up in Rome a few weeks ago and were disappointed that the Sistine chapel was closed on the day we went to visit. It is definitely on our list of things to do before we leave here. Rome is a place with so much stunning architecture, that it continually surprises me.

you know what? I kind of agree with you. I'm not saying it's not an extraordinary virtuoso achievement (painted by the one man, with single strokes of a brush) but, if I'm honest....

St John's Co-Cathedral in Malta is *cough* rather understated, actually the marble floors are fantastic and of course they have their own in-house Caravaggio's!

I always wonder at the sheer number of willies in such masterpieces. If you produced a work of art like that these days you'd have your hard drive whipped off for examination as soon as you could say "Glitter-ati"
