I was on my way home yesterday afternoon and I had to stop at the zebra crossing in Knowle. On the pavement there was a mother and her daughter pushing their bikes.
I looked at the daughter's bike. It was a 24" wheel girl's roadster with Sturmey hub, full chainguard etc.
"Blimey" I said. "I haven't seen one of those for years".
I went on to say "I knew a girl at school who had a bike just like that. Her name was Josephine."
"That's my nan's name" said the girl.
