Getting shirty!

Hi there,

Anyone got any tips that actually work for getting shirts to work without creasing. I'm finding it a real chore to drive into work on a weekend to drop shirts off. At the weekend I'm trying to put work out of mind as everything is a bit stressful atm. Going in makes me stay and work more (I already get in during the week at 7.30am and stay some nights until 10pm...not everyday but at least once a week) and I want to try and keep weekends as family time! However careful I am to fold them carefully, when I take it out of my backpack it looks like cr*p!

Thanks,

Russ

I roll my shirts after ironing instead of folding and fine they look a load better when I arrive at work. I also take several days supply at a time and hang the others up in my locker that helps further.
Yes, this is what I do, works fine, and I'm fairly fussy about not having crumpled shirts.

It makes life easier if you have a big bag in a pannier rather than a backpack.
Thanks Mort. I've tried panniers but couldn't get on with them. This sounds stupid but how do you fold them before you roll them?

I fold mine up, put it in a dry bag and squeeze as much air out as I can and sling it in my rucksack. I then hang it up whilst I have a shower to let any creases fall out.

I fold them the same way as I would normally then roll them toward the collar.

Sorry to be a pain but do you mean folding them the shop way (never got the hang of that) or folding in half then sleeves together and crossed over the body (that sounds like how I do it but now even questioning that!!!)

I can never get them the way shops do lol. Plus I find they crease in the middle of the arms that way.

I therefore fold in half then sleeves across body and roll from bottom.

Cool thanks! Will have a go tomorrow. Maybe I'm just a bit heavy handed plus maybe put my lunch etc in first then shirt on top so there's no weight on it

I put my wet weather stuff in the bottom (in the hope I don't need it!), lunch next then shirts and trousers, both rolled.

Why not buy a travel iron and take that into work (or even an old domestic one)

Loose rolling works for me, and for emergencies a short sleeved shirt sidesteps the most obvious creases while saving you weight.
