Hi, my first post. I am lookkng for a new bike and after a few test rides I like the Giant Escape 0, in a Large. However, everywhere I look online this model is exactly £649, why is every retailer at the same price point ? Any help greatly appreciated.

Is that the RRP on the 2014 models, newly released? Bike manufacturers are quite good at controlling pricing and they tend to have promotions at the same time for all of their outliets, like now with Specilaized I think.

Discounts normally obtained on peripherals rather than the bike, especially if getting on C2W (as the retailers have to pay a fee with some of the schemes)

If you want to save, try looking for a 2013 model - prices start to come down as the new models are launched in the late summer. Ask at the Giant stores - depending on where you live.

Online look at Ashcycles, they often have good deals on older Giant models, or other deals on sundries when you get a bike like now

Pricing all driven by supply and demand, if there are low stocks prices will be higher

Thanks Dave. I'll give Ash Cycles a call tomorrow.

It is just spooky how consistent pricing is on Giant bikes, I can't think of any other product where there is no variability in prices even on a new model.

I'll bet nobody on here can find a 2014 Giant Escape 0 in a large for any price other than £649.

Go on then...
