Gillets

Looking to get a new gillet as zip broke on the current one.

I would be grateful if Cycle Chat members could help me with choosing the new one.

Would like it to be yellow or white in colour. Needs only to be windproof. nothing over £60 please.

I need this gillet this week if possible as I need it for the commute to work, so could you also recommend a reliable and fast shop to order it from as well.

I did like the white ralpha one but its toooooo much money, and the wife would kill me.

I have a Nike Clima-Fit and rate it. Not sure what size you are but at £20, it's a steal!

The Adidas one is pretty good. Very, very lightweight and white from the front, but black in the lower back. http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/productdetail.asp?productcatalogue=ADIDZGIL220

The fabric keeps you warmer than I would have expected from something so thin.

I've got a Polaris Vortex, which I have been really pleased with and it comes in a range of sizes. Retail price is normally £40, but I got mine hugely reduced at the CTC rally in York.

I really like my Endura Laser Gilet, its nice and adjustable having draw cords round the neck and waist. Its available at Wiggle and from my experience of them if an item is in stock it takes 2-3 days on average, even without paying for delivery.

Chain reactions have more stock particularly in small.

Prendas' one is a decent budget option - they come up small in the body (not long) in my experience though.

You could try your local Aldi as they had a cycle day with gillets a fortnight ago. They may still have some stock in a storeroom. Exceptional value!!
